Yes, and...

  • "It was as if the sheer act of recounting these stories gave us some control over them..."
  • "... discovered that almost every one of us had has at least one nightmare in some form or another in which we either had forgotten to wear our veil or had not worn it ..."
  • The boy who told his parents he'd been having an "illegal dream."
  • "McFate, as Nabokov called it." Doesn't Nabokov pre-date the fast-food monstrosity (it-that-shall-not-be-named)? Did that evil entity STEAL the "McEverything" concept from NABOKOV!?!
I'm so much more enjoying this book now that I am reading each chapter as an essay that begins and ends. I was so frustrated looking for a continuing story from chapter to chapter. Silly me. So wrong.
